The Sceptre E255B-FWD168 houses a TN panel so it is not the best monitor for office use because of its terrible viewing angles

This gaming monitor has 165Hz refresh rate and is FreeSync Premium certified for high refresh rate blur-free gaming.

It provides built-in speakers so it is a good choice for entertainment, but one should pick an IPS monitor for media creation.

The build quality of Sceptre E255B-FWD is average because it is too thin and made up of plastic. Although, the parts seem very put together and it is light-weight monitor at 6.82 lbs.

The Sceptre E225B-FWD168 gaming monitor has a removable stand so make sure to remove it while mounting. It has diamond-shaped mechanism for attaching and detaching.

This gaming monitor does not have a cable management hole on the stand for routing the cables. Hence, it is hard to build a cable-free desk setup with this monitor.

The screen clarity is acceptable because of the tight arrangement of pixels, but the screen real estate is not that great compared to high resolution monitors and we do not recommend this for office and reading use.

There is an anti-glare coating on the panel which should eliminate most glares and reflections, still it is not the best choice for lit environments because there are brighter monitors available.

This monitor’s contrast ratio is 1000:1, which which is standard, and the blacks appear gray in the dark.

Gaming on this monitor in the dark feels is not something we would recommend. If you are looking for a monitor that is good for bright as well as dark rooms, check out the AOC G2490VX.

Viewing Angles

Sceptre claims 178-degrees wide viewing angles which is great, but we think they are terrible because TN monitor have narrow viewing angles and colors start fade as you view from side angles.

If you need a gaming monitor with wide viewing angles, consider the LG 24GN600-B because it is an IPS gaming monitor with 144Hz refresh rate.

Color Coverage

The color coverage is good with the 106% sRGB on this monitor, which is perfect for viewing SDR content. It produces vibrant colors bringing the gaming experience true-to-life.

Response Time

The Sceptre E255B-FWD168 has 1ms minimum response time and it excellent for a cheap gaming monitor. It handles motion well and with the FreeSync Premium certification, the gaming experience stays blur and stutter-free.
