Weight – 6.02 lbs
The build of Sceptre E249W-FPT is plastic, but it is of very good quality resulting in good build quality than previous Sceptre monitors. Also, the parts seem very well put together.

Swivel – N/A

The Sceptre E249W-FPT has terrible ergonomics since it only offers tilt function, making it poor ergonomically.
It does not offers swivel, pivot, and height functions because it is a cheap monitor so the manufacturers have to cost-cut on the parts and functions.
Display & Performance
Panel Type – IPS
Panel Size – 23.8-inch

PPI – 92 PPI
This monitor has FHD screen resolution which means 1920×1080 pixels resolution and that results in 92 PPI on the 24-inch screen size.
The screen clarity is fantastic because of the tight arrangement of pixels which makes it an ideal monitor for reading and office use.
Peak Brightness – 320-nits
The Sceptre E249W-FPT has excellent 320-nits peak brightness and that is unbelievable for a monitor that is priced under $300. Even the expensive LG 27UL500-W can only reach 300-nits and that is impressive.
It should combat glares and reflections with ease making it a great monitor for well-lit rooms.
Contrast Ratio – 3000:1
This monitor’s contrast ratio is 3000:1, which can dynamically reach 1000000:1, making it excellent for dark rooms, and the blacks appear consistent
Using this monitor in the dark feels much more better due to high contrast, so it performs well in dark as well lit environments.
Viewing Angles (H/V) – 178°/178°
Sceptre claims wide viewing angles, but we we think the vertical viewing angles are not that great, so mounting this monitor at a height on the wall should create a problem.
NTSC – 72%
sRGB – 99%
The color coverage is standard 99% sRGB on this monitor, which is excellent for viewing SDR content. It produces rich colors making the viewing experience vibrant and true-to-life.

The Sceptre E249W-FPT has 5ms minimum response time and it has decent motion handling for a cheap monitor. It is great for casual gaming needs because we have encounter very less or minimal blur while playing motion intensive games.
Refresh Rate – 75Hz
The refresh rate is limited to 75Hz only so that might not interest gamers. Still, it is a smooth monitor for basic use because the 60Hz feels very dated to be honest.
Black Frame Insertion – N/A
The Sceptre E249W-FPT does not have BFI (Black Frame Insertion).
HDR – N/A
The Sceptre E249W-FPT is not HDR certified.
Anti-Flicker Technology reduces the backlight flickering and provides a consistent viewing experience.

Fast Response Time
This monitor has fast response time for clear and consistent viewing. It prevents stutter and provides a clear viewing experience.
It has dual 2W speakers that are ideal for hearing system alerts and attending online meetings, but they are not that loud.
2x HDMI 1.3

USB, Other Ports
1x 3.5mm Audio Input
1x 3.5mm Audio Output
It offers dedicated audio ports for input and output.
That’s a Wrap!
We love the Sceptre E249W-FPT because it does all the basic things so perfectly. The best part about this monitor is its pricing. It is super approachable and does not break the bank even if you build a multiple monitor setup with this.
We have seen quality IPS monitors than this, but the IPS panel on the Sceptre E249W-FPT breaks the barrier. It has the highest peak brightness in this price-point making it a perfect monitor for well-lit rooms.
So, if you are looking for a cheap quality IPS monitor, then the Sceptre E249W-FPT is an excellent choice and we highly recommend due to its positive customer feedbacks on the Internet.
