Height40.4 cm

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN has a curved design and it looks very excellent from the front. It has has a frameless design and that makes this monitor perfect for dual setups.

It has Sceptre branding on the middle of bottom bezel and it has a round footprint of stand that takes a good amount of space on the desk. The 1800R is not that substantial and has a very minor effect to the eyes.

Back

Sceptre-C275W-Back

Depth20.1 cm
VESA Mount – Yes (75x75mm)
Ports Position – Back-Facing

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN has a clean design from the back and it comes finished in black color. There is a big Sceptre logo on the top of the monitor.

The monitor is quite deep so make sure you have some space from the wall to place this monitor. It has ports on the back and they are back-facing. You also get buttons for OSD menu on the back. It supports VESA mounting through 75x75mm interface for wall-mounting.

Bezels

Sceptre-C275W-1920RN-Curved

Thinnes – N/A

The bezels on the Sceptre C248W-1920RN are thin from all the sides and that gives this monitor an excellent look. The top, left and right bezels are very thin, whereas the bottom bezel is double the width of other three sides.

Build Quality

Sceptre-C275W-Build

Weight6.61 lbs

The build quality of Sceptre C248W-1920RN is not that great. It feels like a weak monitor. This monitor is made up of plastic, and the parts do not seem very well put together due to noticeable gaps. It weighs nearly 6.61 lbs, making it lighter than its bigger model Sceptre C278W-1920RN

Stand

Removable Stand – Yes
Cable Management – N/A

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN has a removable stand and it can be removed while mounting this monitor on the arm or wall.

Unfortunately, there is no cable management clip or hole for routing the cables so making a cable-free setup with this monitor is tough.

Ergonomics

Swivel – N/A
Height – N/A
Pivot – N/A

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN offers only tilt function. It can go 15-degrees backward and 5-degrees forward. Unfortunately, you cannot swivel, rotate, or make this monitor go up-down.

Display & Performance

Panel

Panel Type – VA
Panel Size – 23.6-inch
Aspect Ratio – 16:9
Panel Depth – 8 bits (6 bits+FRC)

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN houses a VA panel with 24-inch screen size and that is great in terms of colors and contrast ratio. It is a perfect sized monitor for most tasks and we think it is the most comfortable screen size for office.

This cheap curved monitor has a 16:9 aspect ratio panel with panel depth of 8 bits so it can display a wide range of colors with more depth in clarity.

Screen Clarity

Resolution – FHD | 1920x1080p
PPI – 81 PPI

This monitor has FHD screen resolution, meaning 1080p resolution and that results in decent 93 PPI on the 24-inch screen size.

The screen clarity is good because of the tight arrangement of pixels, but the screen real estate is not that great for professional level media creation.

Brightness

Peak Brightness – 250-nits

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN can reach 250-nits at its peak and that feels satisfactory for indoor lighting conditions.

Unfortunately, the reflection handling is mediocre so do not put this monitor directly in front of a light or window. If you need a brighter monitor than this at cheap price, check out the Sceptre E249W-FPT.

Contrast

Contrast Ratio – 3000:1

The contrast ratio on this monitor is 3000:1, which can reach 1000000:1, making it excellent for dark rooms. Also, the black uniformity is great.

Working in the night feels much more better on this monitor due to high contrast, and it provides detailed clarity of night scenes.

Viewing Angles

Viewing Angles (H/V) – 178°/178°

The viewing angles are not that wide and the colors start to fade while viewing from the sides. It is not an ideal monitor to share your work with colleague or client sitting on the side.

Color Coverage

DCI-P3 – 70%
sRGB – 85%

The color coverage on the Sceptre E248W-1920RN is poor. It covers 85% sRGB and that is a very narrow color coverage for SDR content. Its bigger model covers 100% sRGB, whereas this monitor lacks satisfactory color coverage.

Response Time

Response Time – 8ms

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN has terrible 8ms response time but it is okay for casual gaming purposes. The motions appear clear and blur-free unless you are playing a motion intensive game. It should get the job done for causal gamers, but enthusiasts should stay away from this curved monitor.

Refresh Rate

Refresh Rate – 75Hz

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN has 75Hz refresh rate which is okay for most tasks. It feels a little bit extra smoother than 60Hz monitors, but the difference is not that huge. It is perfect for chill gaming sessions, but is not a great choice for competitive gaming.

BFI

Black Frame Insertion – N/A

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN does not have BFI (Black Frame Insertion).

HDR

HDRN/A

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN is not HDR certified.

This monitor has Adaptive Sync and that makes it perfect for causal blur-free gaming.

Blue Light Shift eliminates the blue light emission from the screen, which causes eye strain and fatigue.

Flicker-Free Tech

Flicker-Free Technology reduces the backlight flickering and provides a consistent viewing experience.

Built-in Speakers

It offers a pair of 2 Watts speakers for hearing audio, system alerts, and video conferencing.

Connectivity

Video Inputs

1x HDMI 1.4
1x VGA

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN houses a single HDMI 1.4 port for video connectivity and a single VGA port also. All the video ports support max [email protected] refresh rate, so it is great for connecting multiple devices at the same time.

USB, Other Ports

1x 3.5mm Audio Out

Unfortunately, there are no USB ports, but you do get audio output ports on this monitor.

That’s a Wrap!

The Sceptre C248W-1920RN is one of the best cheapest curved monitors of all time. Sceptre monitors are often known for their cheap price and good features. Well, these cheap monitors are not perfect, but they suffice requirements of most people.

The curved form-factor on the Sceptre C248W-1920RN does help in reducing the eye-movement by providing a center-focused viewing experience and we think it is a great monitor around $100 for anyone who stares at the screen for a long time.
