Bezels

Thinness – N/A
The bezels on the LG 32SQ780S are very thin from three sides. Its bottom bezel is quite thicker than the other three but it is thinner than other monitors in the industry.
It looks so premium with that frameless design and also makes it super compatible with dual setups.
Build Quality

Weight –24.5 lbs
The LG 32SQ780S has excellent build quality and has a very heavy weight to it.
It is plastic, but of a very good quality and we think the parts are very well put together.
Stand

Removable Stand – Yes
Cable Management – Yes
The LG 32SQ780S has LG’s Ergo Stand which is removable and that needs to be removed while mounting this monitor on the wall.
This stand also has cable management hole or clip, so it is easy to build a cable-free setup with this monitor.

Display & Performance
Panel
Panel Type – VA
Panel Size – 31.5-inch
Aspect Ratio – 16:9
Panel Depth – 10 bits (8 bits+FRC)
The LG 32SQ780S houses a VA panel with 32-inch screen and that offers excellent color coverage with fantastic contrast ratio.
This monitor comes with 16:9 aspect ratio with panel depth of 10 bits so it can display wide range of colors making it perfect for creative professionals.
Screen Clarity
Resolution – UHD | 3840x2160p
PPI – 140 PPI
This monitor has UHD screen resolution which means 3840×2160 pixels resolution and that results in 140 PPI on the 32-inch screen size.
This VA monitor has excellent text clarity, it is also great for viewing from a distance. It offers fantastic visibility so you will be able to put this monitor at a comfortable distance.
Brightness
Peak Brightness – 400-nits
The LG 32SQ780S has decent 400-nits peak brightness and that feels sufficient for a monitor of this size.
The reflection handling is great because of the anti-glare coating on the display, but it would have been even better with a high peak brightness.
Contrast
Contrast Ratio – 3000:1
This monitor’s contrast ratio is 3000:1, which is excellent for watching movies and working in the dark.
It can display deep blacks and has a decent dark-room performance.
Viewing Angles
Viewing Angles (H/V) – 178°/178°
LG claims wide viewing angles, but we doubt they are narrow because VA panels have relatively average viewing angles than IPS counterparts and colors start to fade while viewing from the sides.
If you want a similar display with wide viewing angles for work, check out the LG 32UP83A-W with IPS panel.
Color Coverage
sRGB – 99%
DCI-P3 – 90%
The LG 32SQ780S has 99% sRGB which is standard and perfect for viewing SDR content.
However, it lacks wide color gamut and that makes it not so good HDR performer.
Response Time
Response Time – N/A
We have no information regarding the response time of this monitor, but we think it should handle motion intensive tasks very well.
Refresh Rate
Refresh Rate – 60Hz
The refresh rate is limited to 60Hz only so that might not interest enthusiastic gamers. Still, it is a smooth monitor for office use.
BFI
Black Frame Insertion – N/A
The LG 32SQ780S does not have BFI (Black Frame Insertion).
HDR
HDR – HDR 10, HDR 10+
As seen on displayspecifications.com, the LG 32SQ780S is HDR 10 and HDR 10+ certified, but has mediocre performance due to the lack of high peak brightness and wide color gamut coverage.

Connectivity
Video Inputs
2x HDMI 2.0

USB, Other Ports
1x USB 3.0 (Type-C, DP Alt Mode, 65W PD)
3x USB 3.0 (Type-A)
1x Ethernet RJ45
The LG 32SQ780S houses a single USB Type-C port with DP Alt Mode and 65W power delivery to connect it with MacBooks.
It also has three USB 3.0 ports for connecting accessories and a single Ethernet port for Internet connection.
That’s a Wrap!
We think the idea of smart TV and computer monitor on a singe display is great, but would not impress many. It is still a decent monitor though because for around $500, you are killing two birds with one stone here. If you are someone who is hard-core binge-watcher, then this is a great monitor for you to enjoy movies and shows in free time.
If not a monitor like this should do the job, which will also save your few bucks.
It is a feature-rich monitor, but we think there is still a lot of room for improvement. The peak brightness is high, but the viewing angles are narrow due to the VA panel. It is a great monitor for dark as well as bright rooms and we highly recommend this monitor from LG if you think it fills the gap of your requirements.
