The LG 27UQ850-W is a 4K professional monitor for office, entertainment and gaming. It is a Nano-IPS monitor with excellent wide viewing angles and rich colors with DisplayHDR 400 certification. The large screen provides excellent viewing experience and you also get USB Type-C port with DP Alt Mode and excellent 90W power delivery.

It is a premium HDR 27-inch monitor with 4K resolution for office, gaming, and entertainment. This monitor from LG was launched in 2022 and is a premium and Nano-IPS variant of the LG 32UP83A-W with high peak brightness and contrast ratio. We would recommend this monitor for bright rooms as well as dark rooms for office and professional use.

Superb

The LG 27UQ850-W is a professional 4K monitor with Nano-IPS panel. It has excellent peak brightness with DisplayHDR 400 certification. We think it is a great choice for dark as well bright rooms and is also AMD FreeSync certified.

However, the stand lacks swivel function, but you do get tilt, height, and pivot functions.

The LG 27UQ850-W has a Nano-IPS panel with excellent sharpness and screen real estate and that makes it perfect for office and productivity.

This monitor has AMD FreeSync, so it can do causal gaming, but is not for enthusiasts.

It has a pair of built-in speakers for entertainment, and the screen real estate is also great for professional level media creation.

This monitor’s contrast ratio is 2000:1, which is superb for viewing in dark-rooms.

It provides ultimate deep blacks with rich clarity, making it perfect for gaming and working in the dark.

LG claims wide viewing angles, but we doubt they are narrow because VA panels have relatively average viewing angles than IPS counterparts and colors start to fade while viewing from the sides.

Color Coverage

DCI-P3 – 98%

The color coverage on the LG 27UQ850-W is excellent with with 98% DCI-P3 coverage and we think that is due to the Nano IPS technology.

It is a wide color gamut coverage, so you get accurate colors with rich details bringing the image true-to-life.

Response Time

Response Time – 5ms

The LG 27UQ850-W has 5ms minimum response time and it should not bother office users, but if you are a competitive gamer, you should definitely skip this one.

Refresh Rate

Refresh Rate – 60Hz

The refresh rate is limited to 60Hz only so that might not interest enthusiastic gamers. Still, it is a smooth monitor for office use.

We think it is worth the price for the features and panel. However, this monitor lacks swivel function, but you can mount this monitor on a custom monitor arm via VESA mount. It is for those who need a professional monitor for bright as well as dark rooms.
