You get a decent gaming monitor for the right price. The LG 27GL83A-B houses the fastest IPS panel in its segment, making it a gaming beast for high refresh rate gaming. It ensures in delivering ghosting-free gameplay with zero stutters.

Design & Aesthetics

The LG 27GL83A-B has very much of LG’s design language elements. Even though its a gaming monitor, it looks more like a professional monitor from the front with its subtle, elegant, and minimal design. From the stand, you will be able to identify that it’s a gaming monitor because it has that sharp, aggressive design that sets it apart from LG’s design language.

The backside of the LG 27GL83A-B is delighted with red accents, especially that red ring in the centre gives it a bold look. It seems RGB lighting at first, but it’s just a red coloured plastic strip, so that’s quite disappointing because the RGB lighting would have been great there.

The front of LG 27GL83A-B has a three-sided bezel-free design to make it look elegant, which also benefits in multiple screens to give you that continuous look. The bottom is quite thick from compared to other sides because the LG branding goes there along with NVIDIA G-Sync label on the left.

Unlike ArcLine stands on other LG monitors, our current contender houses a sharply designed stand that offers excellent grip while consuming less space on the desk. These small things matter because many of you might not have enough room on the desk. It provides a couple of seamless adjustments for optimum comfort while playing games.

The LG 27GL83A-B has a decent set of features mostly ideal for gaming. You don’t get those productivity features you get on the LG 27UK850-W, but considering this is a gaming monitor you get more game-oriented features.

You get NVIDIA G-Sync with FreeSync compatibility as well so it doesn’t matter whichever card you have, the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) will work seamlessly on this monitor. Now those of you don’t know what VRR is. In simple words, it matches the frame rates coming from your GPU with the display’s frame rate for tear-free viewing experience.

Moreover, it houses a feature called Black Stabilizer, which boosts the visibility in dark scenes. For instance, a sniper guy is hidden somewhere in the dark, which won’t be visible in a regular monitor.

However, when Black Stabilizer activated on our contender, it will make the sniper guy visible by tweaking the display.

Ergonomics & Connectivity Ports

The LG 27GL83A-B offers an adjustable stand with height, tilt, and pivot adjustment capabilities. It misses out on the swivel function, which is a little bit of disappointment for those who share the screen with their colleagues. It shouldn’t matter much as the panel is IPS, and the colors won’t fade when viewed from the sides. However, if you need the swivel function, you can mount this monitor on a custom arm with the help of VESA holes. You get 110mm of height travel to adjust your monitor with 5-degrees forward and 15-degrees backward tilt, which is excellent.

Talking about the connectivity ports, the LG 27GL83A-B houses dual HDMI ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5mm Audio Out port. You don’t get any USB port on this monitor, which is quite disappointing considering this is a gaming monitor.
