Design & Ergonomics
Front

Monitor Type – Flat
Width – 54.08 cm
Height – 40.89 cm
The LG 24GN60R has a plain design from the front and the first thing you will notice that this monitor has very thin bezels.
It is a big monitor and requires noticeable amount of space. There is a LG logo in the middle of the bottom bezel and the stand has a spreaded-leg design and it is hard to tell it is a gaming monitor from the front.
Back

Depth – 18.05 cm
VESA Mount – Yes (100x100mm)
Ports Position – Back-Facing
The back of the LG 24GN60R looks fantastic and it looks like a proper gaming monitor from the back. There is a ring in red color on the back with Ultragear logo on the top.
We also noticed there are vents for heat to dissipate. In the center of the red ring, there are ports, and holes for VESA mounting. The ports are back-facing so that should increase the depth of this monitor to certain centimetres.
Bezels

Thiness – N/A
The bezels on the LG 24GN60R are thin and we think a multiple monitor setup should work seamlessly with this monitor.
Build Quality

Weight – 8.69 lbs
The build quality of LG 24GN60R is excellent and it feels like a solid gaming monitor. Although it is made up of plastic parts, but there are no gaps and the parts seem very well put together.
Stand

Removable Stand – Yes
Cable Management – N/A
The stand on the LG 24GN60R has red trim for aesthetics. It is removable and it needs to be removed while mounting it on the wall. It offers excellent stability against wobbles on the desk.
Unfortunately, there is no cable management hole on the monitor, so it is hard to make a cable-free desk setup with this monitor.
Ergonomics

Tilt – 15° Backward, 5° Forward
Swivel – N/A
Height – N/A
Pivot – N/A
The LG 24GN60R gaming monitor offers only tilt function, which makes it ergonomically poor.
Its tilt range is very narrow because we have seen monitors offering wider tilt range than this.
Display & Performance
Panel
Panel Type – IPS
Panel Size – 23.8-inch
Aspect Ratio – 16:9
Panel Depth – 8 bits (6 bits+FRC)
The LG 24GN60R houses a high refresh rate IPS panel with 24-inch screen size and that is great in terms of colors and viewing angles compared to TN and VA counterparts. It is a perfect sized monitor for high refresh rate gaming.
This budget gaming monitor has a 16:9 aspect ratio panel with panel depth of 8 bits so it can display 16 million colors which makes it a colorful panel for gaming.
Screen Clarity
Resolution – FHD | 1920x1080p
PPI – 92 PPI
This monitor has FHD screen resolution, meaning 1920×1080 pixels resolution and that results in mediocre 92 PPI on the 24-inch screen size.
The screen clarity is good because of the tight arrangement of pixels, but that should not create any problems like fuzzy image while viewing from a distance. It should also not put much stress on the GPU because the 1080p stays easy on the computer.
Brightness
Peak Brightness – 300-nits
The LG 24GN60R can reach 300-nits at its peak and that feels satisfactory for indoor lighting conditions.
Also, the reflection handling is great because there is an anti-glare coating on the display and it perfectly combats glare.
Contrast
Contrast Ratio – 1000:1
The contrast ratio on this monitor is 1000:1, which is not that great for dark rooms. Blacks might appear gray on this monitor in the dark.
If you want a gaming monitor for dark rooms, consider VA monitors because they offer high contrast ratio for cheap price.
Viewing Angles
Viewing Angles (H/V) – 178°/178°
This gaming monitor from LG has fantastic viewing angles resulting in consistent image from side angles. It is great for the person sitting besides, and perfect for mounting on the wall or placing the monitor at a height.

sRGB – 99%
The color coverage on the LG 24GN60R is standard. It is in the range not narrow, neither wide. It is perfect for viewing SDR content and SDR gaming.
Response Time

The LG 24GN60R has lowest 1ms response time making it perfect for gamers. It offers smooth motion handling with a clear picture while playing motion-intensive games. Plus, the Dynamic Action Sync further reduces the input lag to the lowest for a responsive gaming experience.

USB, Other Ports
1x 3.5mm Audio Out
This monitor does not have video ports, but you do get an audio out port on this monitor.
That’s a Wrap!
For around $200, the LG 24GN60R is an excellent cheap gaming monitor for 144Hz gaming. We think it is perfect for those with low-powered CPUs because the 1080p stays easy on the computer. It is a great performer for motion intensive games and we are impressed by the motion handling of this monitor.
It does not have speaker, and also the stand has poor ergonomics, but the IPS panel is very smooth and we highly recommend this gaming monitor to those who want a small gaming display.
