Width – 50.96cm
Height – 39.58 cm
The LG 22MP400-B has a plain design and it looks heavy from the front. It does not have a frameless design and that makes this monitor looks ugly in our eyes.
It has LG branding on the middle of bottom bezel and it has square footprint of stand that does not take up much space on the desk.

VESA Mount – Yes (75x75mm)
Ports Position – Back-Facing
The LG 22MP400-B has a clean design from the back and it comes finished in black color. There is a big LG logo on the top of the monitor.
The monitor is quite deep for a 22-inch size and it requires decent amount of space from the wall. It has ports on the back and they are back-facing. It also supports VESA mounting through 75x75mm interface, but it is not in the middle of monitor.

The bezels on the LG 22MP400-B are thick and that gives this monitor an ugly look. It is not the best monitor for dual setups due to possible black bars.

The LG 22MP400-B houses a VA panel with 21.5-inch screen size and that sits between the TN and IPS counterparts in terms of colors and viewing angles. Unfortunately, the monitor feel quite small and seems uncomfortable after long usage. Check out cheap 24-inch monitors and 27-inch monitors for better comfort.
This cheap monitor has a 16:9 aspect ratio panel with panel depth of 8 bits so it can display 16 million colors which makes it a colorful panel for everyday use.

The contrast ratio on this monitor is 3000:1, which can reach 1000000:1, making it excellent for dark rooms. However, the black uniformity is not that great.

Viewing Angles
Viewing Angles (H/V) – 170°/160°
The LG 22MP400-B is not the best with viewing angles because of its VA panel. The colors fade while viewing from the side so it is not a great monitor to share your work with client or colleague.

The LG 22MP400-B’s connectivity ports gets the job done. It offers a single HDMI port and a single D-Sub port. However, dual HDMI ports would have been great here.
USB, Other Ports
N/A
Unfortunately, there are no USB ports or audio input/output ports on this monitor.
That’s a Wrap!
We think the LG 22MP400-B is a near-perfect cheap monitor for office and causal gaming. Although, it misses out on speakers, but this monitor is potential contender for many buyers. Its small screen offers excellent sharpness making it a perfect monitor for office. It has reading modes for reading, AMD FreeSync for gaming and much more.
The only potential downside which we think would be turn-off for many buyers is its ugly design. If it would have a bezel-free design, this monitor would rock the cheap monitor category. Unfortunately, this is what it is, but the monitor is still a great choice, only if it costs under $100.
